1) GroupWise Webaccess If you can access a web browser and get on the internet, you have immediate access to all of your email. It's the quickest, lightest, and easiest way to get in and out of your email. There is no client to install, you can do it from any browser with an Internet connection, and you don't lose any functionality. The bottom line is that if you can browse the Web, you can send and receive email. Using it on the Road: Just plug into the internet, open your browser, and go to the web address of your GroupWise mail server. 2) Groupwise Messenger GroupWise Messenger is an awesome utility that allows you to stay in touch with your entire company. It's just like most other instant messengers, but is specifically intended as a corporate function. Since it is integrated nicely with eDirectory, only people with user ID's in your tree can login and use it. All messages can be SSL encrypted, so communication can be secure no matter where you connect from. You can find a more detailed description of GroupWise Messenger here. Using it on the Road: The messenger program runs on your Windows workstation. Just get an internet connection and use the Messenger client to login to your corporate Messenger service. If you have the messenger service on a Public IP address, you can connect directly to it. If it's behind a firewall or VPN, there may be some extra considerations or configurations. 3) IFOLDER iFolder is one of the coolest technologies to come around in a long time. It ships with NetWare 6.x and allows you to synchronize files from your laptop to a secure storage area on your network. Even better, it allows you to access those files from any computer using a web browser. Note: iFolder 1.x and 2.x doesn't help 'share' files among different users. It's mainly for personal files that you want to keep to yourself. If you need access to Shared storage areas, NetStorage or VPN services can be utilized to gain access to those areas. iFolder 3.x, which is only available on OES Linux (server backend), does have the ability to share iFolder between users. Using it on the Road: You don't need an internet connection to use the files because they are stored on your laptop or workstation. Just modify existing files and create new ones. Next time you connect to your office iFolder service, your files will be automatically synchronized with the server. If your iFolder services is available from the Internet, then you can connect to the iFolder service from anywhere in the world and your files will always be synchronized. You can also access your iFolder files through a secure web interface from any Web Browser.
